One, two, fast, repeat!
Well I'm going through my regular long run pace and then accelerating to my race pace. Going through the fields I'm being careful not getting hit by motorcyclist.

Discovering new running routes
Simply zooming through the streets as I ran on the sidewalk and on the street on this sunny morning, April 29th, Israel independence day. Although sunny, the weather was not too hot. At first, we set to leave at 7:30 am but that's when I noticed that my music was not updated. We had already left and were about 300 meters away from home. I was kind of frustrated and thought to myself I was going to miss this run, but then Karen told me that we should just go home and update the list. Once we got home I pressed the update list button on my watch. This usually takes a few minutes. I had recently discovered an application called "Calm" that comes with the phone's health app. "Calm" is a guided meditation app. After a 10 minute session my music updated and we left, up through Wiseman. There weren't a lot of people on the street, we notice after a few minutes of running. Since people were asked to stay home the night before, I guess it transposed to the day. At a moment I thought to myself that we should head back home, but when we saw a patrol car pass by, we understood it was ok. The run itself was quite stable at a regular pace. The hardest hill was the one behind the fields, the one you enter from Lev ha-park and up to Kfar Nahman. You can see it on the map below. Once we arrived back home, I had a Clif protein bar (peanut butter and chocolate) and then a tasty, yummy smoothy full of life. Going Faster
Luckily I was able to get out of bed today to start my training, and sitting down with Karen to meditate on the beginnings of a new day full of possibilities and having a wonderful cup of coffee our son joined us and also our dog. By now the exit looked harder and harder, but with a push of strength, I exited the house towards the park. This training starts and ends with 15 minutes of warm-up and cool down. In this session, I decided to walk the first 10 minutes. I knew the training was going to be challenging and I didn't want to get exhausted straight from the start by running too fast too soon. I started running at a good pace, feeling the cold morning wind pushing me backward while passing through the Sport-tech park while increasing my pace and quickly turning to the right, heading to Lev ha park where I did my training. By now the warmup was over, and I had to start what the Garmin trainer call´s speed repeats, the hardest part is maintaining the pace in range. I find it easy to go faster or slower but to stay in the range is the hardest. Walking between rests, I started heading e toward track at the sport-tech. There, I finished the training running for 30 seconds at a pace in the range of 3:30 to 3:50, again, the hardest part is maintaining the pace in range. After I arrived home, I feel grateful to have been able to complete this training. After all, Putting all of your energy into the run is what ultimately will make you faster. Cool path through the field but lots of mosquitoes
Can you tell how tired I am? Jajaja. Moving on to my next run, this was Sundays run. I finished editing the video yesterday but I didn't know what to write on the post. I was still tired from the run on Sunday. I didn't recover well enough. Maye, I didn't eat well. But my body was full tired and on Monday I was dehydrated. I think that now the weather is changing and this makes it more important to keep hydrated. I drink Gatorade or Powerade to hydrate because water doesn't seem to do the trick. How do I know when I'm dehydrated? I have a terrible headache and nothing takes it away until I during a Gatorade or Powerade. When available, I buy the powder version available at super pharm. It also helps. I feel getting better at editing the videos. What do you think? Each time it's a bit faster and I'm using cool clips. What about your runs? How are your routes? I'm thinking I want to give you new routes every run so you can try them out and let me know what you think. It's good to get some feedback. Benefits of stride repeats training
Stride repat training is about running with a high cadence of between 210 to 220 for 20 seconds and the rest by walking or jogging for 45 seconds. I found that with this training you increase your overall pace on your regular runs. In this video, I talk about my run and how I felt the improvement from yesterday. In a way, I can't really understand how it works. I can only guess that the brain gets used to pacing faster while at the same time your body gains the muscle to withstand a faster cadence. I'm still far from the objective I set myself. In my next race, which probably will be a virtual half marathon, I'm looking forward to having a 5:00 pace. It's good to set up objectives and to take up challenges. I never imagined I would be running at 5:40 pace and much less at a faster pace. Now, I'm slowly reaching my goals. It's amazing. I use the Garmin training programs. It takes a while to get used to, but once you do, you just follow the instructions. I will write a bit more about that later. Enjoy your smoothies! Share how you make yours and about the sports that you like. Originally posted: https://www.frozenfruit.store/post/benefits-of-stride-repeats-training
